Hi folks, only had my B5.5 (estate) since sunday and already it has been loads of trouble!

The bootlid won't open from the button on the fob, the button on the tailgate or the button on the inside of the driver's door. However it will open via the key in the lock so I know the mechanism works.

I have read about rear wash/wipe issues, but mine works fine and shoots water onto the glass just fine. However, I have had CCM issues related to water ingress so was wondering whether my problems are related to that or not, or whether anyone else is aware of what could be causing the issues opening the boot.

    Thanks in advance,

    Rob.

Remote opening of the boot is via the ccm. Looks like you may have to check ccm wires again. It could still be lock fault as the solenoid part may be at fault.

    Cheers Martin,

I will wait until Vw have the car in for CCM/water ingress issues on monday. If it doesn't fix the fault I can look into solenoid problems.

How much is a solenoid out of curiosity and is it easy to replace yourself?

It's part of the lock so you have to replace the lot.
