Hey, anyone removed a boot lock without the key?

I know how to do it with the key, but im swapping mine as ive got a small ding in it - snow again

Anyway i was lucky enough to get a rear boot, with genuine audi spoiler (mine currently does not have one) in my colour from same year and model of car (so no new badges needed) for £60 delivered! Now the boots not arrived yet but im assuming the old lock will be in it so i need to get it out and refit the lock from my old boot lid into it.
    Anyone done this before?

    cheers

It has been ages since I've done this, and on a B5. But if I recall correctly you do not need the key to get the lock out. Remove the deck lining and it should be self evident.

had a quick look at this last night - seems that i need to undo the plug, undo the cable and there is a 10mm bolt, should (hopefully) just come out. famous last words lol

dead easy - undo the x1 10mm bolt, undo the power cable and undo the lock cable and just pull it out.

Boot all swapped along with the lock, happy days
