Rear fog light issue

I have been getting a 'Rear left fog light' message in my dis.. I have changed the bulb holder and the bulb but after some research on this forum Ive discovered there is no fog light in that side? Only the drivers side works, is this right? If it is then why am I getting this error in my dash?

Any ideas anyone?

I've had this,there is no left hand fog light.
I cleaned all the bulb connections in both rear clusters and the fault has never returned.

thanks for the swift reply.. i will try that tomorrow but i have had a new bulb holder put in on that side..

New bulb holder won't make any difference, as you've found out, no nearside rear fog light
i think what happens is a resistance somewhere sets off the warning.

I cleaned the connections today and replaced some bulbs that were looking abit dim on the back.. and still i get the error on the dash.. the rear foglight doesnt work either (drivers side)..

I have got everything sorted on this car, just had front end resprayed to get stonechips out, long life service etc, this 1 thing is the only problem that doesnt go away!

any idea where the resistance might be? and is there a fuse for the rear fogs? there doesnt seem to be a fuse for it in the side dash.

any help much appreciated..

Something tells me that the message for the rear fog lights on a UK spec car says left even though the bulb is on the right. Have you tried changing the bulb/cleaning the contacts on the drivers side?

Yes thats what I thought at first. I have changed the bulb on drivers side.. sprayed abit of wd40 on it but it still doesnt work.. Do you think I should change the bulb holder? Or is it not related?

Check for power at the lamp holder...
