good thread. My headlight switch flickers intermittently, well just the last led for the dipped beam icon on the outer ring. I've resoldered the two pins, although they looked fine to me. Anything else i need to check? Its obviosuly a loose connection somewhere as a slight tap on the side of the dash and it lights nicely, but then switches off again.

I had the same intermittant problem. After a while two of them stopped working, so I looked for this guide, couldn't find it, so did it from memory. Replaced 2 led's and 2 dry joints/cracked pcb track. In the process dislodging a resistor which was a PITA to fix. All back together now and working great.

I realise this thread has been quiet for a while but I thought I would give it a go.

I have a problem whereby the lights within the switch illuminate at initial switch on but go out after about 3 seconds. No amount of tapping the dash will turn them on. Is this likely to be an LED problem or something else?

    Also:

In the above description a 12v supply was used but a 5v LED was inserted as the replacement. Should I buy 5V LEDs or 12V?

    All help gratefully received.

    Hey guys

Got a question, I tried to fix the same LEDs as the opening poster, if i touched the most right top led, the two would go on. So i suspected a bad solder point on the LEDs. After soldering they did turn on but blinked both at the same rate. So i tried to solder again but now they are completely dead.

How come the LEDs blinked at the same rate? And is it possible that the LEDs are broken?

Where do you guys order the right type LED?
