    Default Gearbox Compatability – 04-01-2010,09:22 PM
    Sharan / Alhambra gearbox problem - will transplant be rejected?
    Have had my 1998 Alhambra 1.9 TDi gearbox diagnosed as having a defective 3rd gear baulk ring, or the circlip which holds cog in place. Basically it crunches into 3rd from 2nd or 4th even if double declutching.

    I've been given a gearbox to replace it with, BUT it's a Galaxy 1.9TDi gearbox. Outwardly appears identical but need to know if it's the same as the one on a Sharan/Alhambra (which definitely have the same gearbox). Anyone know if they're the same or what I can check?

    pretty certain they are the same, the only difference between the models are cosmetic
