Man did it hurt. My knee is twice the size it would normally be and I can hardly move it!

In addition to pain, I also have guilt - my son was holding my hand at the time and when I went over, down he came with me and sprained his wrist.

So, anyone else had any embarrassing issues with the ice?

Oh i must add that this was in a car park in Stockport (local people you will know the ones I mean at the back near the ramp)

Nearly went in the carpark at work. Its the inbetween bit thats the worse. Fresh snow is ok and dry is ok but that compacted bit can catch you out. On the roads it seems that drivers don't know how to cope with the conditions - 30 mph on clear gritted main carriage ways, then see the number of tracks into the kerb on icy side roads.

Combover for that knee they say to put ice on it to reduce the swelling, but you've most probably had enough of that.
    Take care

Ouch! Sounds horrible - hope you make a swift recovery!

I took a tumble on the drive, clearing snow. Our drive slopes diagonally down from the house to the road and right to left, and I was clearing the steepest bit when my feet shot out from under me. I handed hard on my derriere, just as my neighbour emerged into her drive. She was trying very hard not to laugh (unsuccessfully, I might add). I'm a little sore, but I can still sit down (albeit gingerly), and it really only hurts when I laugh hard!

Whilst clearing my drive a few days ago (broom/spade and sand) I felt my feet start to slide. I attempted to use the broom as a stop but instead I slid from the top of the drive right down to the bottom...then over the pavement....then onto the road....then a good few feet down the road before I managed to step onto the grass and stop.

Brown trouser moment but I don't think anyone saw.

I felt like one of those Curling people!

Considering selling my VCDS KEY-USB interface. If you're interested please contact me via PM or email.

    That snowman is mightily impressive.
Was carrying a broken washing machine out of a flat yesterday... got down the stairs etc and then outside onto the snowy and icey backroad to load it into my T5. My son was helping me carry it (he'd been at college, hence was not wearing the right footwear at all!) when his feet totally went from under him and he fell front first (due to the weight of the washing machine) onto the road!

He was fine. I'm just glad he didn't try hanging on to the washing machine, just dropped it as he went. Otherwise he may not have still had his fingers!

And yes, MFGF, Sam and Combover, I'm laughing at you all.
    Glad you're all okay though.
