I recently had a fault code scan and one of the codes indicated a faulty glow plug on no.2 cylinder of my 1.9 Tdi engine. The glow plug warning light on the dash had been flashing for some time.

Today I tested the heater plugs and sure enough, plugs 1, 3 and 4 had a resistance of 0.6 ohms but plug 2 had a resistance of more than 50 ohms.

So I replaced the faulty plug with a new Bosch item, having first checked its resistance which was 0.5 ohms.

The only problems is that the orange light on the dash still flashes!

Should it turn off if the fault is cured, and if not is there an easy way to reset it besides another trip to VW?
