    Hello,

This morning I awoke natrually early and with a thought to the other half still asleep i decided to turn on the pc in the other room as it has a tv card in it and watch the football highlights which i missed last night.

That's thoughtfull of you i hear you say.

Whilst i was watching football i also had vwaudiforum on as well, see, blokes can multitask.

Live update.... whilst typing this i have been acused of being a "sad git" and have just recieved a gentle clout round the head.

    anyway where was i...

oh, yes, the morning progresses and soon arrives a cup of tea followed by

"Your not looking at that again are you!!!"
    and
"you spend more time on here than with me!!"

Then in my absence it gets turned off.

Am i a unique case or does this happen to anyone else?

Lets have an insight in to your home life where vwaudiforum is concerned and / or cast your opinion in the poll.

I just spent odd nigh 3k on an uber PC, naturally the missus did a double take at the bill, full tower, neon lights and 'why do I need two screens?', but she seems to be a good sport.
But I work from home, and due to insomnia, I tend to keep my gaming to the dark hours, she also knows I'd go crazy without it.

I bought her her own diddy PC too, that helps, all partners should have separate PCs.

I've had most of the above.

The funny thing is, she's often glued to Eastenders or Coronation street, if try and have a conversation, she doesn't want to know.

To relieve the boredom, I'll often grab my laptop and do stuff. Then, [during the adverts] I'll get "are you going to be on your laptop all night?"

...No dear, I much prefer watching mind numbing soaps for the intellectually challenged...

    Ho Hum...

I actually believe that soaps destroy the ability to think.

No joking and my apologies to people who watch them, but I have banned them in my house.

A few years ago I started playing shoot em up games (COD, half-life the latter is superb IMHO) single/multi play stuff. I was really crap at it, but loved it none the less.

My missus said exactly the same "You on that again, you sad git, what about family time"

Then I gave up on Shoot em up games and started on the this forum stuff. It is all I use the PC for other than work and have been doing since end of 2004. I can sit and read books or car mags w/o any hassle!!!

She now hates the forum stuff "You spend more time talking to virtual ppl than you do real"

Can't vote as we go through varying stages, I say WE, I mean she does !

I think women need to realise that unless they are doing something filthy with you / to you, or cooking your dinner, that they are really very boring indeed.

    Notes;

If my Mrs reads this I'll get more than a clout round the head but, I don't care, she knows I'm right

At least we are at home with them and not down the pub !

And no, why the hell would we want to watch soap operas or some naff period costume drama ?

Ladies; want more attention ? ... then don't put on those horrid compfy jim-jams and scary slippers for a night in front of the goggle box... just get filthy after cooking a nice meal !! ... your hubby or boyfriend then might want to give you more attention, don't just expect attention for attentions sake !

I don't "live" with my other half although she doesnt actually seem to not be here a lot of the time. I work from home a bit and I also work in IT so when I am at home I'm usually browsing, doing research, fixing a few computers freelance, titing about on forums and playing the odd game which she does get a bit naggy about sometimes.

She also doesn't like that I've got a working dog and take him an hours training every day, nor does she like that I spend a fair bit of time in my garage at the weekend tinkering with landrovers or whatever else.

I'm more than happy to spend time with her and do make plans and take her out like any young lady should be BUT does she do the same and make plans and take me somewhere NO! I've always been the way I am and I won't give up parts of my life to sit on the sofa with her watching visual rubbish. I don't even have a TV, downstairs all I've got is a PC with a TV card and a Projector hooked upto it that I got in trade for some work I did.

Also anytime she wants her car "looked at" she will moan like anything if I dont do it over another job i've got to do in the garage, same with her computer

As Chris Rock said "ALL I WANT FROM A WOMAN IS TO FEED ME, PLEASE ME, SHUT THE HELL UP" (he said it a little more colourfully but this is a family forum)
You may think I'm being helpful yet sarcastic, this is only because I feel I need to help you to help yourself in the future

i run the risk bigcol has so kindly highlighted in that if my missus should ever happen to read this thread my life will certainly not be worth living, so for her benefit, please read the following disclaimer : i do love you to bits and i always will my sweetheart

i run around all day at work, earning my pennies. my pennies are either spent on keeping the car on the road (which runs her to and fro every conceivable destination a woman could ever imagine), on food (which she quite happily eats and which i cook) or on shopping (mainly clothes/shoes/bags/makeup...you see where its going...for her)

now all i ask for in return is a little more service and a lot less nagging... if you want to sit in front of the 'tele' for a night of 'gripping drama' then you go ahead and do that.. but woman, for god sake, leave me to do my thing too.....

i have tried reasoning with the logic of similarities, ie i have a passion for cars, hence i am on forums a lot of my time, the rest i am tinkering with them or sleeping... she loves a bit of drama, hence shes passionate about soaps and spends any free time of hers, watching them....

i can certainly sympathise with this whole sad situation.
