New to this forum - so I appreciate that all of this has probably been said (and answered) before.

Got my A6 Sline 4 months ago (2008 model) and I cant believe how poor the SAt Nav and mp3 player options are.

Sat Nav - wont take full post codes - this is a 2008 model remember. Nav technology has been around for along time now. My fault not exploring this "fault" while buying but EVERY sat nav system I had used - seen - over the years (I've driven Volvo S80's and XC90 for the past 8 years) ALL worked perfectly well with PostCodes. Are Audi incompetant?

Local dealer basically says - tough - new models 2009 r OK but not mine!
My Volvo XC90 had a "firmware" update a few years back because of an issue with the satnav but Audi says they cannot do this - they cant update the MMI firmware. Strange Volvo can do this on a car tthat was 2 years old at the time of the problem ocurring - and a few years back!

me thinks its a case of not wanting to - rather than not being able to.

MP3 player - never heard of the Audi Music Interface when I bought my A6 (it was 13 months old) - was told " media allows you to access the CD player and other media sources you may wish connect later".
What a load of tosh (being really polite here) Seems I need to get a retrofit AMI added at a cost of £399 so my MP3 player can connect up.

My wives basic 1 year old Mini has a MP3 connection as standard - why not a 24k A6.

I love how it drives the long distances I cover but I really think Audi have taken the P*** with the Sat Nav & MP3 capabilities considering we're in the 21st century and this technology has been around for a long time now.

Sorry for the diatribe - but does anyone have any solutions to the above issues that doesnt involve lots of wires and can interface with the existing MMI setup for the MP3 player issue?

& Can you update the MMI software / firmware to recognise Post Codes

    Thanks

Audi do not support full post code.new a8 may support it
ami is the best system but dension 500 is cheaper
AMI VERY SIMPLE 1 HOUR RETRO FIT WITH LOTS OF OPTIONS AND FULL IPOD INTEGRATION WITH ID TAGS AND CONTROLLED VIA MFSW, ITS THE BEST AND WELL WORTH THE MONEY
THERE ARE NO UPDATES FOR THE POST CODE
vag diagnostics, retrofits and general repairs
