I got one of them "proper jobby" remote control helicopters from me missus for chrimbo. Being Male I did not read the instructions and as I attempted to get the thing airborne "in the house" I discovered that the spare sets of blades were being used at an alarming rate. Thinking I had "mastered" controlled unmanned flight I thought I would have a go outside in the garden (after all I was on my last set of blades and the garden is much bigger than the rooms inside). There was a very light breeze but the garden was sheltered "What Could Go Wrong?". Got the thing to take off and was mincing it around erraticaly when a gust of wind caught it "Launching" the model vertically like a rat-up a drainpipe due to the increased lift, it then reached the Unsheltered wind and the motor was unable to supply enough power and it blew over the roof of my house where it crashed uncerimoniously. Needless to say it did not resemble the picture on the box that it came with when I retreived it, and obviously I have not told my missus!!

Anyone else buggered their christmas pressie-up yet?

    Hi Bratty,

i did a similar thing but with my father-in-law's 'terror wasp' helicopter! he had about 5 mins playing with it before my brother in law and i totally knackered it on the street outside his house.

i'm not in the good books!

Bratty that is a bugger. They are hard to fly. I only ever had one of those £15 ones and only flew it in the house. I reckon outside it would of lasted seconds.

My mate had one for about £100. We had an open office at work at the time with nobody in it (all made redundant) and it flew well in there. He tried it like you in the back garden.

His words "I took off, got scared and landed, put it back in the box". Still there to this day I believe

    It's a Mercedes Benzzzz though
