Hello to you all.Sadley I have to use my first post to ask for help on the elussive OIL PRESSURE STOP ENGINE fault.
I regretfully own a 05 plate 140 (BKP) sport, done 71k.Fault occurd christmas eve, just wondering if anybody had any drawings or photos of the oil pump/balance shaft setup as I am tempted to tackle the job myself as I'm sure it will not come under a VW recall.
Any help or advice greatfully received.Al

Had my passat back from indy garage with a lovley bill of £2036.At least they washed and hoovered it.
They replaced oil pump unit with upgrade kit and fitted belt kit.
Just hope my turbo holds out, seems ok at the mo'.
Emissions Garage light is on again, has blon glow plug No4,they said control unit is faulty and would cost me £320+vat,anybody able to tell me if they have had this fault and how much to correct?
    Regards

re glow plug fault. I had No1 go off last year and " emissions- workshop" message - got 4 new plugs from europarts (ordered on the car reg. number so should have been right) and replaced all 4 that blew instantly on trying to start the car! ,supplied plugs were the wrong voltage!. Took them back for a refund and got x4 new plugs from VW - over £60 if memory serves but no problems since fitting them. Kept the 3 "good" old ones as spares. A burnt out plug can often be identified on visual inspection but you could swap a couple of plugs over to see if the fault moves with the plug before shelling out, could work out cheaper than a new control unit.

If the control unit is faulty, none of the glow plugs will come on. I would just change the glow plugs and see what happens.
