Glad to hear you have now hopefully sorted your problem out, My wife drves the car more than me, and now and then she tells me the red light comes on, she justs turns the ignition off, and back on again and it seems to clear the error..You don`t need to use your vag com to reset the dash lights, if everythings ok with your sensors..Not sure what type of Audi you own, but if it`s a A2 like mine you will benifit by joining http://www.a2oc.net/..very helpfull people on this forum and always quick to respond...good luck

mine is an 03 A6 2.5Tdi so the A2 site probably wont help me.

One thing I learned today also was changing the fuel filter is no simple task. Temoval of hoses and fitting it is easy, but the fuel pump does not activate on ignition key, you need to crank it over to get the pump to work, problem was making sure no air gets into the system, however my clever mechanic simply connected it all up, knowing there would be air in, cracked the 6 plugs (no idea what they were called) and I cranked it oover until diesel came out of them, one by one the air was bled out and once done the car started and drives perfect again.

Im a computer/web guy so not used to getting this manky but it was great fun, and the guy that did the work is very good at it. and only charges £30 per hour.

Ok false alarm with a good news spin on it.

After the drive last night where everything seemed ok, took it for its re-test (MOT) today. They simply had to put key in, see if ABS light goes out, and thats a pass. It passed. I was then told in order for them to not have to charge me for the second retest as it was 12 days since last not the required 10, I had to put it into the garage, and they then did a re-test of emitions. The blasted lights came on and this time stayed on.

As luck would have it the MOT guy never noticed it so I have a pass, but now still have the issue, and I am absolutely 100% certain the lumpy on pull away and stop issue is related to the ABS light issue, simply because it does not do it when the light is off, ony when the light is on.

Have a new MAP sensor to put on, but going to pull off the ABS control unit and see if there are any dry joints, if so, then I can fix those myself.
