    Hello chaps,

Just picked up an Audi A4 (as above).

Didn't pay that much for it as it was/is in need of a bit of love.

Fixed the rough running under 2000rpm as it had an air leak on the flexi rubber piping. Thought I was looking at coil pack, leads etc so that was a pleasant suprise and cheap fix.

Now on my list of bits to do I have the following.....

Remote Central Locking - Not working, no noise of motors, no lights flashing, when try to lock with key on drivers door the lock goes down but none of the other doors lock.

Interior Light - Not working when doors open, works if switched on manually. Don't think its door switch related as if I leave the light on and open the door there is a warning buzzer sounding to remind to switch lights off.

Electric Windows - Not working, no noise of motors, no attempt to open.

Have checked ALL fuses in the fuse holder by drivers door with none found to be blown.

Right, think I've covered everything and in as much detail as possible.

    Many Thanks,
    Neil.

    Hello chap.

Many thanks for getting back to me.

Its the facelift (projector bulb with clear lense glass.

I've read up on these pumps but really don't know what they are, even after reading through 3 pages. Is it a pump in the respect it pushes air? Or is it an abreviation of something else? I'm confused how a pump would do windows, lights and locking? I can guess it can suck air and push it to do the locks and push windows up and down, like hydrolics, but not sure about lighting?

So glad these type of forums exist. I do love learning about new cars etc.

    Many Thanks,
    Neil.

the locking pump only locks the doors nothing to do with windows or lighting id get it scanned with vcds see what codes you get and take it from there if you dont have vcds look in the vcds section and a member near you will help for a few beers your problem could be anything from broken wires to faulty ccu

bez £50 say's I'm right and its missing / disconnected / faulty, by all means get it scanned with vagcom but i reckon it will just say no communication with controller

c/l pump is a pump that locks doors pneumatically its also a programmable control unit
removing it would cause the exact problems you describe as it controls locking, windows, interior lights and alarm

you need an 8D0 'E' for a facelift, if you check under boot trim on right i reckon you'll find 3 connectors and 2 air lines disconnected to stop it making a noise or the last owner sold it seperatly as they go for £100+

on a b6 which i guess bez101 owns? they have central conveniance units (ccu's) as locking is electric

ive got a couple listed on ebay if you need one i can do it slightly cheaper away from ebay
