    When I had my Touran, one of the really annoying features was a painted rear bumper - i.e. no protection for the vulnerable bits when loading / unloading.

    Not got my Golf yet, but I suspect the same issue.

    Spotted this recently, looks like it might do the trick (and presume you could remove prior to sale, revealing a pristine bumper....)

    You can get the following transparent covering to protect the top of the bumper against scratches. This is from the German site but it is available in the UK as well.

    This sounds like a great idea my wife sometimes scuffs the rear bumper top when loading shopping due to arthritis, so thanks very helpful
