Hi Guys - I just wanted to know if anyone is having issues getting a new "fidelity" Mobile phone cradle for my Nokia N97 - this is the one i can operate through my steering wheel (like I was using for my Sony Erikisson). I have been in touch with Audi and they are saying that they have no idea when the cradle is available. Apparently this is the case for the new Iphone 3Gs aswell...

With these two phones being up there in the best selling phones of the year scales! Does anyone know of a work around or any ideas when these cradles will be available???

Yeah its a fair one for quick fix. But i have the Cradle coming out of the side of the centre consol. So its not ideal!
So is there maybe a bluetooth sterio i can use through my steering wheel?

I have an iPhone 3GS and I use the bluetooth to use it with the phone. I also have the ugly arm thing sticking out of my dash so I wanted to get the cradle to charge my phone on the go and also make it look nice.

A normal Nokia, so the older ones, cradle cost £35 from Audi. The new iPhone 3G/S cradle which has just been released cost £135!!!! This cradle came out the last week in November and it was made for the iPhone 3G but also works with the S version.

Now if the 3G has been out for er over 18months(?) then that is about how long it takes for a new phone to get a cradle made for it which really is a joke. Most people are moving onto a new phone after 18months...

your right it is a joke! The Iphone and the N97 as leading phones in the market surely release the specs that are relevant to the people who make the accessories!!! Surely audi who are in the end responsible for keeping me happy as a customer should be pushing for these cradles to be made. I even emailed their address on the their website 4 weeks ago and not heard anything! I will continue to pester them monthly. I hope to have something useful before my contract runs out!

Just use bluetooth instead, its easier than waiting for Audi to develop new cradles, they have have always been slow at this over the years.

I was told by my Audi main dealer that the I phone 3G cradle only charged the phone, the connection with the car was by bluetooth. So no advantage of the external aerial. If that is the case, a £20 charging lead seems slightly better value than a £135 adaptor plate. Also I do not need to remove the protective sleeve to charge it.
