Colour DIS

Does anyone know what the Audi part number is for the colour DIS version of A4 4cyl TDi instruments (B6 & B7)?

B6 will be different from B7 I imagine due to immobiliser issues? Kph and Mph speedos will also affect which one you need. In this case as its vital you get the right one I woud check with your dealer as to the exact number you need.

Trouble with asking the ******* is that most parts departments are as useful as chockolate teapots - the stock replies to any queries are 'what's the registration / VIN number' followed by 'sorry mate, if it wasn't fitted to your car as standard I can't help you'. If I quote a part number they just say that it's an instrument display (really??!).

I know the second hand unit's going to have to be coded (thanks for the offer from Shark 90) but my understanding is that the B6 & B7 units are pretty much the same. What I don't want to do is to buy the wrong one - some people will promise you anything to get the sale!

I tried a B7 key with my B6 dashpod and the immobilisor on the B6 wouldn't pair with the key !!

Pretty much the same doesnt mean they are the same, I'd be concerned about the immobiliser.

If your dealer wont/isnt helpful then search the Audi used car site (or Autotrader) for a car the same as yours with the color DIS and quote them thats car's reg number.

My old car was a B7 2007 2.0TDI with color DIS (mph) fitted from the factory, drop me a PM if you want its reg number.......

as above just find a car with the colour dis and use the reg from it thats all i do when i need upgraded parts

Unfortunately not petrol so the rev counter will go up to 8!
