Rear door closing problem

First post. Please be kind. Opened rear driver's side door to take child seat out today. Went to close rear door. Couldn't because catch was stuck in lock position. Can manually force it open with effort but the same thing happens each time I open the door. Is this a known problem? Had the car 4 weeks now.

Just sounds like a faulty catch. I'd be more worried that it could open suddenly without warning - especially with a child in the back. Use the other door for now (if you only have the one child) and get it in for repair under warranty ASAP.

Thanks Steve. That's really good advice and I will be sure to take it as soon as the Christmas break is over.i In the meantime, no children in the rear seats.
