Finally took the golf out for a decent run today and noticed that the speedo seems to be missing a digit!

I have 70mph, a notch for 75 and then 80mph, then a notch (which I'd expect to be 85) but then it goes straight to 100.

Am I being really thick here or is there something I've missing. It was a bit too snowy to go a bit faster and get a cruise control speed display to see what the notch between 80 and 90 is!

after 80 it goes up in 10's not 5's. It's not really a problem, you shouldn't be doing that speed anyway

I noticed it myself, but I've ignored it as I've never done more than an indicated 70 - y'honour...

Of course I have my speed warning set at 70 so I'd never be going to that fast, does just seem a bit of an odd "feature" to not have a consistent scale!

It is done so that the 'legal' speeds are spread over a wider area and supposedly easier to see at a glance.
