Hi there. Just joined this forum, and wanted to say Hello. My main passion is Motorbikes and nice looking cars. I have a standard 2003 Golf GT Tdi130 and a Seat Leon Cupra R kitted TDi 150 remapped to 190BHP. I ride a 2004 Honda Fireblade 1000 rr on the road and a 954 rr Fireblade on the track. What Im actually after is finding out what is required to swap the two engines over. Can anyone help? Thanks, Mac

Yeh, good one mate!! I guess I should be a bit more specific next time LOL. I want to put the 150 engine into the Golf. Can I just drop both lumps, change the ECU's then reprogramme the dashes to the keys??

Not usually that simple - as you appear to have both cars you should have all the bits you need.

Wiring looms, ECUs, engines, gearboxes etc.

    Not for the faint hearted.

Could you not just remap the Golf or are you looking for a challenge?

Why not just chip the golf?
It will be easier and cost less.

I have a PD tuning box chip (not the cheap resistor type)on it at the minute. Its supposed to take it to 160bhp, but it doesnt feel all that quick, and it smokes a lot. I considered remmapping the ecu like I did on the Leon, but the engine has 108K on it, hence the reason why I want to change the engines over. The Leon is the wifes and it only does about 4 miles a day. A waste I know, coz it is unbelievably fast!!
    Cheers, Mac

Who do you recommend for the remap then? I used SSD tuning in London for the Leon, but I can never contact them when Ive any questions? Most on Ebay offer remapping for around £175 - 200. Are they all the same or what?
Looking at both engines and ancilleries, it all looks exactly the same. I thought I could drop the struts, gearbox and engine together as the Leon is based on the Golf 4 platform. All the suspension kits, brakes, engine and gearbox mounts are in the same place. Has anyone done this transplant before?
    Thanks, Mac
