    Hi all,

Just joined today and have a question.

I have a 2002 Audi A4 1.9 TDi and I am planning to take it to France next year. According to the manual the headlights may be adjusted for driving on the right hand side of the road, but no explanation of how is given. Has anyone already done this or does anyone know how to do it?

    wricks7,

Afraid not. My plans have changed so it's not so urgent now, but next time the car goes in for a service I'll see if Audi will tell me.

A4 headlights can be adjusted by the Audi garage with their servicing computer at cost of labour - I have just paid £17 and will have to pay the same again when I return to UK to have them set up for UK driving - very anoying. In discussions with the servicing team they advised that one used to be able to adjust the lights. with a mechanical lever but this was discontinued for the garage adjustment. More recent models can now be adjusted by using the MMi screen in car.
To solve the A4 problem the garage suggested I purchase a pair of plastic lens protectors; fit these and then using some black stick on strips, cut to
mask the left pointing part of the beam (checked by trial and error from the beam pointed onto the garage wall). The plastic protectors can then be used whenever you cross to the continent.

I have told the garage to get some protectors and will let you know if it works.

The other solution suggested was to drive on dipped lights without any adjustment!

    regards
    VP

Have received protectors and they came with tape and marks where to place blank on each. I can now fit them easily whenever I cross the channel without incuring any garage adjustment costs !
