    Hi
Have just purchased a 1999 Golf V5 Auto and recently on cold wet mornings it struggles with power in low revs 1000-2000. When I accelerate when the engine is cold it judders / stutters before finally the power is delivered in a rush. It also splutters on tick over.

When the engine is warm its smooth and acceleration is perfect.

Has anyone got any idea what the problem might be before I start throwing money away guessing. Please bear in mind I am not mechanically minded, so keep it simple please!

    Any help most welcome.

Have just go my VAG COM cable and have scanned for errors:

Have now cleared my error codes and rescanned after a weeks driving and no errors have re-occured.

I still get a judder/stutter and loss of power between 1000/2000 revs when the engine is cold.

Its worse when its wet, but always goes one the engine is warmed up after 10/20 miles.

    Any one any ideas?

    Easy.... scewdriver and pliers.
Get a new clip and "O" ring when you get the sensor, you can bet if you don't you'll break the clip...

Coil pack amp failure can cause this. It is the box on the bulkhead.
