Unable to re-start when car is hot.

1999 Golf Gti 20v 125bhp

My Golf always starts first time when cold but after it has been driven and is hot if i stop for any reason for a short time it will not start again it just turns over but wont fire up! But if left for say 20 mins it starts up ok!

I have had the Temperature sensor changed but problem is still there!

Would appreciate any help.

The Temp sensor would be my first shout but sice you have already done that iv heard that Cam sensor and fuel sensors and the next step.

A friends punto did the same thing and it was the fuel temp sensor

Thanks for your help e6m6a6 i had the Crank Sensor changed and the problem seems to be fixed!

Im having this problem with mine but its a diesel so the problem is probably different.

Big things are:

Relay 109
Temp sensor
starter motor.

.. I'd buy a vagcom cable for £20 from gendan where you can see if there are any fault codes and probably see the starting rpm
