54 polo tdi sport gearbox problems

Hi

Looking for a bit of advice as I'm no mechanic on what I should do

When dropping the clutch in 1st, 2nd and 3rd I hear a rubbery squeak on the front passengers side also when I go over sppedbumps or hit a dodgy bit of road. Its ok on motorway at spped or good roads and it doesn't pull or anything.

I thought it was suspension and took it to Farmers Autocare, the guy jacked up the front left side and said when he played with the wheel he thought it was coming from the gearbox and said I should take it to the dealer , there may be a known fault and take it from there.

Before I take it up and get fleeced I'm looking for some help and guidance on what could be the problem. MOT was in September and I just paid for the service.

I've driven in neutral and not convinced the squeak was gone althougb if I'm carefull with the clutch the noise is a bit less.

Any ideas before I shell out the week before Christmas

Hello Mate, Did you have it diagnosed yet?
In my experience it is usually the console bush.
(the large circular bush which the lower wishbone pushes into)
