Both my oil and collant temperature barely move off the bottom of the gague when driving, regardless of journey length and I do a lot of motorway driving. I have the 2.5tdi engine, Y reg, 155bhb (I think).
What should I look at first?

I do get hot air from the vents but it can take a while to warm up.

Will this be having an effect on performance and economy, ie does the engine overfuel when it thinks it is cold, and also limit the power delivery? I am getting around 450-550 miles / tank or 40 MPG. I drive mostly on motorways at 70mph.

Thought that might be the case.

Any idea if it is a particularly easy or difficult job on the 2.5tdi? And is there a specific bleeding procedure for the coolig system?

    Thanks.

Its pretty difficult, Bumper off, front panel off, remove all belts including cam belt and you will find the housing located in the most stupid place possible. Probably a good idea to get it done at the next cam belt change, so loads of money to replace a £15 thermostat. Sorry!

And by the way I get about 44/45mpg at 70mph on the motorway and it drops to 40mpg when doing about 85mph
