Hi I have an 2003 A6 1.9TDI SE 4 door Saloon with no sunroof. I have discovered water in the drivers footwell and it seems to be most wet by the right corner under the pedals. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Steve

check the plenum chamber (battery tray). Normally leafs block the drain hole under the battery, it fills up and pours water down the air intake. If left it kills the comfort control unit - central locking, electric windows etc.

This could be a crack in the lid of the electronics box in the plenum chamber, or a failed seal between the box and the bulkhead. The other possibility is a leak behind the door card and the door frame so you need to pieces of A4 paper with a water soluble ink on them and trap the in the door so any distorted line will show you where the leak is.
    Regards Peter

Thanks for all your help cleaned out the bungs but didn't solve the problem. Turns out had a leak from the bottom corner of the windscreen where the Autoglass put in a new screen a few months ago had bent a clip and not sealed it properly. Oh well at least after 2 hours the tray under the battery is clean.
