wanna prove your mate wrong? forget the badges, they meaning nuthing!!! anyway what will the "GTi" badge prove?

Check ur engine code, show it to him, end of story. do a "search" for engine codes, and ull have ur answer.

yes... quite true, but as has already been said... dont trust the badges, the 3 digit engine code is the only way to prove anything regarding the engine power...

well.... yes you have a point there and no, your friends are wrong as you have proven the 'true' gt tdis aren't gt tdis, they are gti's. the 150 bhp tdi is the true gti of the range for me and yes, they were badged up with the full silver GTI badge.

i remember a few weeks ago in my local tescos, i was admiring a pearl black gt tdi (gti) and the owener came back, saw i was drooling and offered to let me have a sit in... had those gorgeous recaros fitted too....

along came a few chavs, who promptly pointed out how silly we were, sticking a GTI badge on a diesel... myself and this fellow vw owner simply chuckled at them....

ignorance is bliss.... but is so funny to others

from what i have found out about mine from the glasses guide, is the 150BHP golf is listed as a GTI TDI 150, the PD meaning 16v probably what that little red I refers to.
