  1. 1.9TDI jerking/no turbo after replacing EGR valve

    Hi

I replaced the EGR valve on my 1.9TDI Mk5 (engine BKC). Now the car is not running smoothly, jerking and has no power. Everything is re-connected and as it should be, however, am I right in thinking the throttle body now needs to be re-aligned?

No the throttle body does not need to be realigned because as such it does not have one. It has an inlet manifold flap motor which functions as part of the EGR valve strategy and to reduce engine shudder on shut down but it does not need aligning. It sounds like you have a vacuum leak but really you need a fault code read to help with the diagnostics.

Check if all pipes connected, sounds vacuum leak.
It happened to me once, after replacing egr valve on TDI passat, one of small vacuum pipes was forgotten, had no power as well.
