I have just noticed the Delay on the wipers does not seem to be working properly
No matter what speed you select it just seems to give one wipe and stop !

You can hear the relay ticking but wipers do not work

" But when ever you change the speed you get one wipe each time you move it "

Wipers work OK in fast and normal speed

Can you access the relay Inside or under the bonnet ?

I have a 2004 model and there was a recall on wiper motors, maybe worth checking if it affected 2006 models and if its been done or not?

If the wipers work in normal and fast speeds then it is definitely not the motor.

More likely to be the relay which has a timer circuit in it. I have one for sale. part no is 4B0 955 531 E. If that matches your car the call me on 07866 538735

I have just been reading the manual again

I may have been wrong it not delay speed but the adjustment for the ran sensor

Is thie wiper controlled by the amount of rain on the screen not a time delay

A potentiometer in the wiper arm linked to the relay timing cct controls the wiper delay.

If you have a rain sensor then it is normally situated behind the rearview mirror. This fires off infrared, with no rain the amount of reflection from the windshield is high. If its raining then the moisture on the windshield scatters the infrared so the reflection is poor . A degraded reflection activates the wipers. The amount of rain determines the amount of reflection and sets the speed of the wipers. The unit is a selt contained module so it looks the problem might be here. Hope that helps!

I assume you have checked the fuse? The relay unit is normally position 5 on the Micro Control Unit. On my TT it is behind the dash right of steering wheel. If you have the motor out connect casing to negative battery terminal using jump lead. Connect positive jump lead to a thin screw driver and touch pin 2. It should go normal speed. Touch pin 4 and it should go twice speed. The rain sensor unit sets the duration between sweeps via the relay unit. However this can be ruled out if the wipers do not work on normal and twice speed. Also check voltage at plug. Pin 2 should be 12V wrt to earth on normal and pin 4 chould be 12V wrt earth on twice speed. However suspect fuse if both front and rear motors don't work.
