only getting 37 mpg ???????

just lately I am only getting 37 to the gallon around town out of my 2003 passat 1.9 tdi & not thrashing it, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
it has been remapped from 105 bhp, had new MAF, new temp sensor & injector loom & has just been serviced

36 mpg is what I get around town in my 2003 tdi 130.... it goes up to 50-55mpg on my commute to work on a country road at 60mph however

yep,by the end of an expensive tankful only get around 37-38,had my 130 sport tiptonic remapped to 170......so doesnt help a lot

If it is an consolation, my 51 plate estate 130 TS (S)i which is remapped to 185bhp, gets about the same, but 50+ on a run. Towed a 400kg car trailer back today (unloaded) on the motorway and still got 40+mpg+. Cheers.

Ah 37 mpg - if only. I dream of reaching the 30s! My V6 4motion struggles to reach 27 - but it is wonderfully smooth....

whats the air temp like, mate of mine works at vw garage and when theres frost around they get loads saying mpg is crap. He reckons the engine has heaters in it and there not good enough in real cold weather

Interesting thought on air temperature - it is very cold for the UK - consistently 0 to -2 degrees. I also wonder about using Super Unleaded. The owners manual claims that 98 RON fuel will give me more performance and greater economy.
