Is my Quattro 170ps really a 140?

Hey all,

I am about to part with my hard earned cash to buy a A3 Sportback 2.0TDI Quattro S-Line. The car was advertised as a 170ps however when I phoned the insurance and gave em the reg they said "ah yes A3 138bhp Quattro S-Line" I nearly fell off the chair and asked them to check, he said they sometimes show up as the wrong car. I phoned the garage and asked them to check the log book and confirm but they acted a bit coy and said it doesn't always say on the log book.
Can someone tell me how to check for certain. I mean I test drove it and it felt like a 170, but now I have doubts.

All VAG cars are imports but that is a UK Audi dealer supplied car, country code X2B.
