    hi people, my mate has an a3 1.8t, and his clutch pedal all of a sudden hit the floor yesturday and didnt come back up, any ides what this could be?

    Hi chances are its probably the clutch master cylinder or slave cylinder.

    or hopefully its the known fault where the bracket that holds the clutch has snapped(check around the floor for broken bits). Have a search for how to fix it. Its cheap and quick.

    If it's the slave cylinder inside the gearbox (common) then try pumping the clutch by hand around 20 times. It should give him a little while of
    driving time to at least get to a garage unless it's totally screwed.

    As m33sta said, check for bits of plastic in the driver's footwell
    which would point to the bracket which is cheaper to fix!
