    Yeah baby, I like!!

Was it easy enough? What LED's did you use?

Do they come on with the other tail lights and does it affect the CAN lamp failure computery stuff?

I used red pre-wired LEDs from an Ebay seller.

It was quite straight forward, a little messy and time consuming though. I'll admit there are better attempts at this using a proper board and mounting the LEDs on that, very much like the OEM light cluster, whereas I just drilled 20 holes and stuck the LEDs in.

They are wired into the number plate light, so come on with the existing tail lights.

No bulb warnings what so ever.

Here's a picture in the daylight:

Are they going to come on with the reversing light then?

It's easy to do, if a little time consuming. I did write up how I did mine on here, somewhere.

It'll be interesting to see the pictures.

I do wonder if they decided to cut costs and not fit the LED's at the last minute, because the light cluster looks designed for them.

I have noticed the Passat CC does use 4 tail lights, (2 within the boot lid and 2 in the wing) but has reverted back to conventional bullbs.

They going to come on with the reversing gear, what else i want to do is, make two red fog light using red 10mm high power led 3 or 4 in one light cluster witch should be brighter then conventional rear fog lights. They back to conventional bullbs because are cheeper to replace then led's,and much easier.

I have recently bought a 5 year old 170 DSG Highline which I am very pleased with - except for reversing light. Where I live the nearest street light is a couple of miles away and so I do rely on reversing lights. Initially I thought the bulb had gone and then realised the reversing light was just totally rubbish. But I have found a solution in the shape of a OSRAM CREE LED WHITE CANBUS bulb with an 80w rating. It wasn't cheap, costing £18 for one bulb, but now I can see behind me. It is BRIGHT and doesn't throw an error code. If you have a B6 Passat and need to see behind you in the dark give it a go.

    Big improvement those 80W CREE LED , I've got 2 , 60W Cree in my B5.5 .

You can convert or buy twin " Skyline lights."

    Get 2 Cree 80W and you'll have a winner .
