In tesco's car park yesterday when the clutch pedal stayed on the floor!!
Only way i could get it up was to pull it by hand (No pun intended!) But there was nothinbg there. I looked in the brake master cylinder and it looked a bit low so i topped it up......it took nearly 1/2 a litre of fluid!!
I checked all the pipes that i could see to look for leaks but could not see any. Tried the clutch again, but no change.
I did notice anoise coming from under the battery tray when i pumped the cluth pedal, it sounded like a squwelching noise!!!!

After looking round on the forum i think it maybe one of 3 things.....

    1. a fluid leak somewhere
    2. Clutch slave cylinder has gone
    3. Brake master cylinder has gone

Is there any way i could check to find out which cylinder is knackered?

    Brakes are still working ok.......

    Thank you

I only ever fit genuine VAG concentric slave cylinders, even when I fit an LUK or Sachs clutch. The cylinders cost about £35 from VW but they come with a two year parts and labour warranty so should it fail within 2 years, VW will change it for you.

I see where you are coming from. The Avatar is the Bovingtion Tiger 1 (my all time favourite tank) and H4H, well what can I say, I didn’t have the guts to join up and fight so the least I can do is try and give those injured chaps some help.

Fair play to you crasher..i am coming to the end of 22 yrs service, time to experience life in civi street me thinks!!

Got the gearbox off, I require a new flywheel, clutch and CSC

    Flywheel - £201 + VAT LUK
    Clurch - £84 + VAT LUK
    CSC £24 + Vat

Gutted but the prices seem ok i suppose.........from GSF car spares, and they had them all on the shelf, the CSC is original VAG part

The center of the flywheel is shot and the cluthch covered in Brake Fluid
