    was drivin on the motorway and just had my oil pressure warning light cum on so pulled over and phoned th AA .when the patrol man came he checked the oil level..was ok i d done it before i set off and informed me there was a common fault on the 18 t petrol engines where the oil stump strainer or pipe get s blocked.and can result in completely knackering ur engine ( my technical term not his)....just lettin u good peeps kno and was wonderin if it s a common fault why isnt audi doin or done something about it...recall for instance?????

    Yes a common problem with the 1.8T's that have been on "long life" servicing.....
    A4 2.5 tdi QS (mapped)

    hmmm well i ve been servicin my car yearly averaging12500 miles for the past 7 years and have been using castrol edge fully synthentic 5w/30 oil..but have recently topped up with a cheaper oil when stuck on the motorway and oil level light came on so may be thats caused it

    Have the oil pressure checked, to see if the pump is working properly.
    Remove the sump to clean and check for a blocked strainer.
    A4 2.5 tdi QS (mapped)
