    hello just a quick question

    is it possible to get a B8 with heated windscreen washers ????

    I think they all have them. I'll have to check the manual but I seem to recall reading something about them in there.

    thats what i thought but on the only frosty morning i tried the washer they seemed to do the same as my wifes golf ...........i didn't see any real difference

    Not sure, but I think they may come on with the heated rear window.

    coming on with the heated rear window would make sense .
    i had a look at the handbook "heated washers" is in the index but when you go to page 62 there is no mention of them .

    As a newbie who's got a 2008 B8 on Monday, I happened upon this in the manual yesterday. On page 64 it says:
    "The windscreen washer jets are heated when the ignition is switched on if the outside temperature is low"
    It doesn't suggest this only applies to some vehicles as it does with the optional equipment so I'd conclude that they do all have this fitted.

    It's only the jets that are heated, not the pipes that lead to them, so you need to keep a decent concentration of screenwash in the bottle to prevent freezing. I mix 50% screenwash/50% water and fill with that - so far I've had no problems with freezing.

    Fill mine up with Halfords pre mixed winter screenwash and it has never failed to work even in -10 plus temperatures.Very impressed
