Headlamp Connector

Hi Guys

I have an intermittent issue with the Drivers side Headlamp. Please note that the headlamp i have are after market ones. That said, i do not believe it to be a problem with the headlamp.

Sometime when i have my normal beam on, the drivers side does not turn on, but my fog lamp comes on at a fraction of power so i get a low yello glow. There have been occasions where the main beam has just come on.

Previously I do recall the connector which the headlamp plugs into being corroded and i would be surprised if this is whats happened.

My question is, where can i obtain the headlamp connector which comes from the engine (female one)? The connector on the headlamp is fine. Would a scrappy be my best shot?

I am no electrical expert, but this sounds like a grounding problem relating to that headlamp cluster. The headlamp is being grounded via the fog lamp and hence you have two filaments in the same circuit, the lower resistance fog taking the lion's share of the current.
