    ok i need a spare key (HLO 1J0 959 753 N, 2 button) for my 2001 Golf Mk4
i can get a fob on Ebay for about 30 quid, this comes with an uncut key in place.

    what do i do then?
how do I program it to unlock my car remotely, and where do I get my key cut (i.e. where is the cheapest place?)

essentially all i need for now is a spare key to unlock my car remotely, if it can start the car then that's a bonus.

    thanks guys

    thanks mate

but the views on the threads (the methods) seem to be conflicting, and i'm not sure if anyone had any joy at the end of it all.

has anyone actually successfully bought a fob from Ebay and got it working?

    if so, how!

i'm not sure if i can avoid getting the key cut as well (v expensive). I hope someone can give me a method of programming the fob without having to put the ebay key in the ignition.

    thanks a million
