Diagnostic connector problem Sharan 2001

Hi,

at my VW dealer they tried to connect the diagnostic tool, but there was no response from it! Any ideas where to look? Cable problems? Connectors that are faulty?
The Diagnostic connector is located under the fuses below the steering wheel, right?

where is the fuse for the Diagnostic connector located?
I can't find it where the other fuses are located. Not according to my manual and the symbol for the diagnostic connector fuse.

i have a 03 bus mine is exactly where you said, the big square one just below the fuse box may even be green if i can remember right, but dont quote me on that...also the fuse i believe is a relay which if not under pass seat its in the second tear fuse board which is behind the main board...if that makes any sense...if you ever need a quick response to a problem try the www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford there great for gear like this...i hope this has helped...but its an issue i have never heard of before...
