    Hi

I would be greatfull for some information on how to go about obtaining new keys for my year 2000 golf gti?
I have no keys or code for the vehicle?
If i buy a replacement transponder key how will the locksmith know the profile to cut it to, does the door lock have a number on it?

    Your help is appreciated.
    Cheers
    Matt

its laser cut key and u havent got an original....so a key cutter wud need to copy from original.
main dealer job and need to get from manufacturer as they keep records of each manufactured cars key
they also would need to code the key for u as they are one of very few who can do that sort of thing.
gonna be expensive u just losing ur keys

It might be cheaper to source a complete Mk4 lock & key set from a breaker or ebay.

Then you will only have to visit the ******** for the immob's.

    Hi

Thanks for the quick reply, do you think an autolocksmith would be a better call?
