after my remap , im going into limp mode. guy says turbo veins are moving further within the turbo and reaching an area of soot causing them to stick , either that or its the vsv valve at actuator arm sticking . i blew down the actuator getting the arm to move which in turn got me out of limp mode , NOW does carburettor cleaner work on these veins ,or 10k Boost Power Restorer or innotec turbo clean or turbo on the bench job and clean by hand ?????????

You need to suck not blow to move it in the right direction.
There is no way to get the carb cleaner in without removing it or at least the exhaust manifold.
If check that there is no vacuum leak by pumping with a hand pump and making sure it holds the pressure difference, otehrwise it may not be strong enough to get past a sooty part of it's travel.

cheers snapdragon , i read on the net driving like miss daisy at 60 mph all the time can cause sticky veins and they need exercising ie-drive like you stole it from time to time to free up soot deposits , now i just did this for 15miles and it ran like an imprezza . so i will see what happens tomorrow , i understand the suck bit , what i did possibly did nothing because the limp mode goes away after switching the ignition off so i read . this 10k spray at ********* is sprayed directly into the air intake and is supposed to de-soot the internals , weather it works or not is at a cost of £20 . if it becomes a beast of burden i may have to resort to original map . gotta try a few things first though .

The trouble is that this spray will only clean the intake side of the turbo and not the exhaust side where the vanes are. Also be careful that when you spray the stuff in it doesn't cause a 13 gun salute so go easy on it.

I would not have thought a remap would cause the veins to act any differently, when I had mine remapped to 170bhp they said that the boost pressure is only increased slightly and the rest of the power is gained via tweaked fuelling. The fault was probably there before and it is just coincidence it has appeared now. I also believe that giving the car a good thrash every now and again and not driving in too high a gear at low revs prevents this problem. Hope you get it sorted and enjoy the remap!
