Well to be honest i dont 100%

however on a recent service it came back as there being some problem with emmision control unit(thingy) which i was told was related to the turbo,

also when i drive to excess or exelerate quickly it goes straight into limp mode, yeah it seems many people have this problem, and as it is at the moment no one seems to know what the cause for limp mode is.

oh what else, yeah when i do a diagnostic check it comes up with an error

mm.. im no mechanic but not sure what else it could be, but saying that yeah as i say i have no real idea.

    can you help?

    Now i aint a mechanic,

If I took it to a garage, wouldnt they just fog me off with a new turbo to make money out of me?

I imagine they would check the fault code, see the overboost problem and try and sell me the most expensive part they can.

Is there anyway i can check from your knowledge what exactly the prob is?

Over boost is normally caused by a clogged N75 valve or sticking vanes in the turbo.
Have a search on here for cleaning the N75 and sticking vanes..

ive just spent last half hour doing exactly that, thanks very much, everything i have found so far points exactly to my problem, and it seems a little bit of carbon removing in the right places and possibly replace a small part may just do the trick.

certainly worth trying before i give in to a new turbo.

thanks very much for all your help

csducks - the N75 valve is likely your culprit. Cleaning may save it, but likely you will need a new valve. Several revisions of the N75 have been released throughout the years, the 'ECS RACE', 'F' and 'J' revisions, all of which are good replacements today. The original N75 valve shipped with these cares are commonly failing items and can be replaced for a reasonable amout.
