Yeah the bro was saying that you need a special tool to take them out and refit them, plus change the seals. While we could probably borrow the tool, I dont think he's done the injectors before because on the 2.0 models Audi just use to change the heads instead of the injectors !!

Guess i wont be doing that then !

I must look like a real ignorant idiot ! ... i think i'll go back to doing mini's up !

What do you recommend crasher? think i've exhausted all the things i can explore by myself??

Except for these Mblocks that Kenney has asked for.

I don’t know where to go now, we have exhausted all avenues without seeing it, more than would normally be possible on here due to you having VAG-COM.

Kenney, going to get those screen shots tonight,

I know you guys have already seen this shot. But surely the timing here is out?

    Im guessing it goes 1 BTDC 0.5BTDC 0 -1 ATDC -2ATDC ??

If mine is at 1.5 BTDC then its out??

If you have checked the timing and as you say it is ok,then there is no further adjustment possible.I don't think the value is significant,if you look at the previous reading, you will see the timing changes with the engine temperature from 18 degrees engine temp and 5 degrees BTDC as the engine gets warmer the timing changes to nearer the specific value. The values i'am looking for in MB 13 + 18 will maybe show up a leaking PD unit from start

    Thanks Kenney,

    I'll get those readings tonight.

    Quick question.

Thinking out loud here and may be daft,...but

If the three cam sproket bolts were done up before the tension was set. (i'm not 100% sure either way because i didnt do the work, but the bro says it was done right...)

Could that throw the timing out due to the slack still being there? However, if that was the case, surely the dowel woudn't have gone into the top slot?

.. i know im probably just talking rubbish, but thought i'd put it out there.

(but thinking about it why would he loosen the bolts to tighten them up straight away, and not after the tension?)

    ..think i am talking **** !

I have two options, get the readings for you and maybe change the tandum pump because i have a spare (even though its probably pointless)

after that i've run out of options and will have to admit defeat and take it to a garage

The bolts are loosened to make it easier to fit the cam belt.the procedure is to adjust the tensioner, then tighten 3 bolts. If with the engine on TDC and you can enter the locking pin then the timing is correct, there should be no slack what so ever on the belt between the camshaft sprocket and the cranckshaft sprocket. As regards putting the vehicle into a workshop, they will be none the wiser, and it will be a matter of raplacing parts,

    Hi Kenney,

Well the engine was at TDC and the dowel went in. so the timing is spot on.

I wouldnt take it to any old garage as they will just end up wanting to change the cams,..pump, injectors etc etc... and i just cant afford to do that.

So it will have to be a VAG specialist who uses VAGCOM, in the end they'll be quicker and better. dont see the point in taking it somewhere who doesnt use VAGCOM.

I'll get these readings tonight and i'll stop spouting rubbish in the mean time
