Done an auto scan on the car and it threw this up

    Address 03: ABS Brakes
    Controller: 1C0 907 379 D
    Component: ASR FRONT MK60 0103
    Coding: 0021505
    Shop #: WSC 00028
    1 Fault Found:
    01314 - Engine Control Module
    013 - Check DTC Memory - Intermittent

    Ross wiki says

01314 - Engine Control Module: Check DTC Memory

    Possible Causes

    • Fault(s) stored in Engine Control Module

    Possible Solutions

    • Check Engine Control Module for Fault Codes

    Special Notes

    • Engine Control Module stored a Code which influences other Control Modules Functionality.
    • To clear this Fault Code you will need to correct the Problem in the Engine Control Module first.

Not quite sure what this means and how it can impact on the car??

    Anyone got any ideas?

And what was the code in the engine memory or is that a hangover code from before?

Right, think the engine control module memory is just intermitten because i had the battery off for two days.

Did a test last night: i clamped the fuel return hose and then quickly turned off the engine.

    When i when to restart:

    1st time - straight away
2nd time - much better not but instant.

Have a feeling it could be the fuel pressue. Going to change the one way valve on the filter first, (because its cheap, quick and easy) and if that doesn't fix it.

I have a spare tandum pump that im going to fit to see if that helps with the pressure.

well new air mass meter and new valve in the fuel filter.

    Nothing.

Took it for a 15minute drive, county lanes up the odd hill and i could only manage 38.5 mpg,

could this be because the car trying to pass all the tests and the ecu is 'learning' or could something else be happening?
