Hi There I have just replaced the 1.9tdi AWX engine in a 2002 Audi A4 5 speed manual, What I would like to know is if anyone has any pictures or diagrams of the routing and connections for the vacuum lines that run from the Presure controllers to the Egr Vave, Turbo Actuator, brake vacuum etc, as the Diagram from audi is a bit vague and the Parts Catalogue is a little more inspiring and helpful but i want to be 100% certain that all is correctly routed!!

Why do I want to know how they all go is because the car was bought with a minor engine bay fire (a/c) compressor caught fire and melted most of the pipe work dowm there!!

Any Help most appreciated pictures/diagrams for reference even more so!!

    Thanks in advance

    Matt

I remember someone else having to do this.

I think they found a good diagram in the Haynes manual which made more sence than the Audi one.

    Might be worth buying one?

    Thanks guys,
Have a haynes manual and its the same as the Audi workshop one, it just doesn't give any clarity to which hose goes to which connection i.e vac in / vac out thats all!!
The diagram on vagcat is alot more helpful but just wanted to see if there was someone with some hands on experience with the vacuum system or some one with a photo?

    Cheers for now

    Matt

    Hi Craggs,
I'd love to help, i'm currently out in afghan with the RAF so hope you can forgive the delay in responding, Is yours a manual or auto gearbox and secondly is it a awx / avf 130 bhp diesel?
I know the Passats have a 3 way controller as their vac system is a little different in the plumbing and actuation even thaough the same engine, Can you get hold of a part number off of it, it should start 8eo.
Will try my best to help just may be a bit slow as several hundred of us here and 30 computer terminals can make thinks a bit long winded to reply to say the least!!
Pipe number 5 runs to the Vac pipe work and nrv that runs between the tandem fuel pump on the rear of the engine and the brake servo out pipe that passes through the bulk head!!

Anymore questrions feel free to ask and i'll do my best!!
