My Golf plus luna 1.9tdi (105) may 09, clutch seemed a little fierce, especially when reversing up a hill, it made the car feel unrefined and juddery.
When booking it in for its 10k 1st service, I mentioned the problem thinking I was being a bit fussy, a tecnician tried it and agreed with me.
I was informed that VW have a "technical recall" on the sachs dual mass flywheel and clutch - these were replaced under warranty.
What a difference this has made, the car is so much smoother and refined, but these are only being replaced if the customer complains.

Anyone out there have a reference number/official title/exact date which could help locate details and confirm existence of of this recall.

I have an Octavia of same age and engine with similar problems. Presuming there is a good chance it will have the same dual mass flywheel and clutch.

    Thanks
