Not sure about on the A4, but on an A6 the Sport suspension is 20mm drop and S-Line is 30mm drop.

    MF.
Sounds about right, but what about stiffness? I would imagine the S-line suspension being more for the looks (as with the rest of the S-line package), lower, but still comfortable. I actually find the sports suspension a bit too stiff for a familiy car when travelling on bad roads. It's a bumpy ride for our kid...

Mad fun for "dad", but not with my familiy in the car.

On the A3 Sport and S-Line they are the same. On the S3 its different, lower and stiffer.

The A4 the Sports suspension is 20mm lower and the S-Line suspension it is 30mm lower than standard like the A6.

    Hope this helps.

I have to be honest, in my opinion the s-line looks good but it's a bit of a bone shaker unless your on very smooth roads.

    Ok.

I was hoping I could swap over to the S-line suspension and get a lil' more comfortable ride. Heard rumours that S-line were more for the looksie.

Anyway.. On MotiveMag they claim the S-line and sports suspension are the exact same on the B6/B7. Also they claim the '06+ have less drop than the earlier ones: http://forums.motivemag.com/zerothread?id=4441931

Could be a US spec thingie.

I'm looking forward to putting on the winter tyres (225/45-17") for better comfort with my kid in the car and less noise. I love the car with the sports suspension for my daily driver, but I don't like having my 16 months old kid in it.

On your car it is the same suspension, as is the A3 but the new A4 they are different.

I don't know exact specs but it seems reasonable to expect that the lower the ride hight the stiffer it will be to prevent bottoming out.
