The LED front and the rear lights look so much better than the standard 'Touraeg style' lights.

I suppose its just subjective but the LEDs on the front look like an after thought to me. Something the local chav would glue on.

And you are ultimately paying for them in the price - they are optional on the GTI in Germany at somethign silly like 350euros, so you can bet some of that price premium has made it into the R's RRP.

VW have been pretty slow with LEDs, given their current eco and safety marketting you'd have thought they'd be much quicker releasing LED rear lights as standard, especially when other VAG products use them and the supposed safety benefit of LEDs (faster response time)

Well just noticed you can configure this now on the VW website in the last couple of days, i was interested in this car but once specced up to the same as the GTI i was wanting is it really worth over 5k more? I suppose only time will tell once the mags start testing etc.

To be honest i think it looks quite bland and not that different to a bog standard golf, and never mind the GTI is it really worth 2k more than an S3, i just hope VW haven't priced themselves out of the market.
