    Hi all,

I was hoping if you could recommand me on what tyres to getfor the rear ones. The tyre size is 225/45/17.

The tyres that are on at the moment, I have never heard of!!!! They are some random make. Should I purchase the same make that are on the front ones, or should I go for something else?

Go for whatever is cheapest. Or ask your tyre fitter for their advice.

Its hard for people here to say what is the best tyre as we havent had individual experience of each tyre.

I can honestly say - mine came out of the factory with Dunlop SPSport 9090's. The Falken Ziex ZE912 I've put on are quieter, grippier, MUCH better in the wet and about 2/3 the price.

If that helps then great :-)

    Cheers,
    Dan.

    Appreciate the help!!!

I will have a look on the net How much do you reckon I should pay for them if I do find a pair of them online?

It wouldnt affect the handling, would it?

The cheapest tyres are likely to see you in deep mess!! One thing you shouldn't do is skimp on tyres. I'm not saying dear is best but cheapest are usually hard rubber and lethal.

I run Pirelli P zero Rosso. Excellent allrounder IMO.

For that specific tyre and if you only want the tyre, not fitting - check out Camskill. My 235/45/R17's were £64.50 each for the bare tyre - I paid £80 each fitted and balanced at Protyre (who incidentally are the sole importer of that marque).

    Cheers,
    Dan.

Lethal?! Dont be ridiculous. New tyres (not remoulds) that are cheap are perfectly safe. Of course they wont have the high levels of grip and uber-handling characteristics of tyres 2 or 3 times the price but they arent exactly unsafe and lethal - otherwise they wouldnt be approved and on sale in the UK.

If all you do is trundle around town like my Mrs' car does then the cheapest tyres are totally fine. Not everyone drives their car like they stole it.

I had a look on camskill but I changed my mind now, even though I put on new tyres on my mazda which were Falken 452 and they are pretty good. But I dont want to go for a low budget tyres. I'm thinking of purchasing Bridgestone tyres.
