Hey guys, im brnad new to this forum thing and just wanted to see if anyone could help me... Alright so, so far, two things wrong with my '02 vw passat 1.8...

i went to put some adhesive on my door panels being that the cloth was loose and was coming off... in doing so, i pulled off the drivers side panel loosening all the wires under neath and behind. when i pull all of them back, the switch on the door to open the trunk and gas release door doesnt work!!! now i have to manually open the gas door through my trunk!!!

Second, recently have been letting my dad use my car to commute back and forth from work... Come to use my car, in trying to unlock my doors from my master key, press it twice, and all the doors dont unkock as they usually would. Pressing the button a hundred times, it still on opens the drivers side door...

So please please please guys, if you have any solutions to these problems, let me know!!!!

    THANKS

    Hi
If your locking and petrol lap release worked before you did your sticking job, I would suggest you've caused a bad connection on your switches in the door. So get back in there and make sure all the connections are pushed home 100% and that you hav'nt yanked any wires out. GOOD LUCK

My '01 olds does the same thing. I think it's a preventive measure to keep you from locking your keys in your VW parts. Do you have a key for remote? Check your VW repair manual or your owners manual. There may be a programming sequence you can do to set the system.

    Goodluck!
