    Hi Chaps,

Noticed something a bit strange with my car this morning on the motorway - its a 96/97 1.6 CL.

Tracking seems fine when im going slow (30mph) but on the motorway, under accelleration my steering would get a little squirly, pulling to the left slightly.

Ive not really moved it all weekend, just to pick up some shopping.

Its had new front and rear suspension not long ago, but they have been fine and arent leaking.

Anybody have any idea what can cause this at motorway speeds?

Possibly a loose wishbone front bolt.

Cheers crasher, I suspected it might be the wishbone, it got replaced around this time last year after a maniac van driver ran me off the road.

What would make it come loose? Wear and tear or Badly fitted the first time or just weak?

    Hey crasher,

Just wanted to thank you for the top tip! Took it to the garage this morning, although they didnt believe me when I first said but on visual inspection they couldnt see a problem.

Told them that it was a suspected it was a loose bolt so they went back and tried, and hey presto problem fixed, all is good with the golf again.

    Cheers Bud!
